Towards Creative Entrepreneurship
Possibilities for social implementation in the creative field and questioning methodologies
1-Day Conference
In today's society, where there are many issues that are difficult to solve through market and economic rationality alone,
Motivated by my aesthetics and sensibility, and my imagination for the society that perceives us,
Presenting new options now to build a positive future society
The true value of architecture, urban design, and art lies in its practical actions and social implementation.
Perhaps this is a revival of the concept and attitude of "creativity."
Even at this very moment, we are surpassing all creators in history.
It has the potential to create a new culture that will last for decades to come.
There are certainly people with unique sensibilities and passions.
They demonstrate creative entrepreneurship,
In order to create new options and hope in this chaotic society,
Designing new ecosystems and financing schemes,
It is necessary to flexibly reform existing industry structures, systems, and mechanisms.
“Towards Creative Entrepreneurship”
To design a creative society from here.
Let's start the discussion together
Introduction
In the fields of architecture, design, and art (creative fields), there is a lack of entrepreneurial spirit, which involves turning one's own ideas into projects, realizing and sustaining them, and aiming to intervene in and transform existing society. To change this situation, we call this creative attitude "Creative Entrepreneurship"*, which asks internal questions based on one's own aesthetics, sensibilities, and experiences, actively builds connections with society, gives birth to concrete forms, and presents new options to society. We hope to unleash the inherent potential of the fields of architecture, design, and art and nurture people who will change society.
ASIBA and @Kamata have discovered the potential in projects that originate from the creative perspectives of the fields of architecture, design, and art, and have been building an ecosystem that bridges the gap between social practice, commercialization, and accelerating social implementation, and that allows anyone to continue creating without giving up. This event will explore the profile and attitude of players who demonstrate "Creative Entrepreneurship," how to create a new ecosystem to accelerate practice, and appropriate financing schemes, and discuss how we can design a creative cultural soil for the future society of the future with a diverse range of experts, including designers, artists, urbanists, architects, capitalists, and think tanks.

TALK SESSION
Session 1: 13:30–15:00: Designing an environment for continuous production
In a capitalist society, experimental expression and creation are becoming increasingly difficult when working solely on client projects. In this climate, some designers are setting up their own businesses and systems, designing "environments for continuous production." Through new practices that circulate design, production, and business, this session will explore new models and environments that allow contemporary designers to actively create based on their own agendas.

▪️Session 2 15:30-17:00: How to move a stagnant society? What is entrepreneurship to challenge the structure?

Areas such as government administration, citizen participation, and urban development are intertwined with multiple systems, organizations, and relationships, and change is not easy. Nevertheless, precisely because these areas are so closely connected to people's lives, the will and methods to bring about change are required. Three entrepreneurs who demonstrate entrepreneurship in non-market, public areas will discuss how they deal with "inaction" in their respective fields and the strategies they are using to move society forward.

▪️Session 3 17:30-19:00: Considering a new creative ecosystem with an eye toward social change

Many of the challenges facing modern society are vague and highly uncertain, making them difficult to solve through existing market principles and economic rationality alone. Traditional market principles alone will likely be unable to resolve this situation. The solution to this social situation lies in the "creative and aesthetic perspective on the future" held by fields such as architecture, design, and art. Isn't a new ecosystem needed to free these possibilities from the constraints of economic rationality? In this session, we will reaffirm the inherent value of creativity and its social demands, and consider the shape of a new ecosystem for creating the culture of the future.

▼What is ASIBA?
ASIBA is a new "ecosystem builder" that innovates in creative fields such as architecture, design, and art. We call this "Creative Entrepreneurship," an approach in which creators pose intrinsic questions based on their own aesthetics, sensibilities, and experiences, proactively build connections with society, and present new options, and this is at the core of our activities. Our goal is to affirm creators whose activities go beyond existing frameworks. We also aim to build an ecosystem in which they can continue to challenge themselves to "create" without suppressing their individual initiative, even within the constraints of economic efficiency and rationality. As a design studio, we continue to take a wide range of actions, including architecture, spaces, products, and applications, with the aim of restoring social trust and expectations for the challenge of creating "things that have never been seen before." We aim for the existence of "Creative Entrepreneurs" to bring about new inventions and build the culture of the next generation. https://asiba.or.jp/media
