・About the "Gabbeh" we handle
Gabbeh means "long pile carpet" in Persian.
Originally, it was a rug used as a household item under the tents of the nomadic Qashqai people living in the Zagros Mountains in southwestern Iran to protect themselves from the heat and cold and live comfortably.
Since it is laid directly on gravel or soil, it is made with long pile (thickness) to prevent pain on the bottom.

The Qashqai men shear the wool from their sheep, and the women spin it into thread, dye it, and weave it with great care.
Using traditional weaving techniques handed down orally from mother to daughter, nomadic women weave these carpets using their intuition and natural motifs such as plants and landscapes, making each one unique in the world.

In recent years, the artistic quality of the designs has begun to attract attention, especially in Europe and the United States, and in 2010 the traditional weaving techniques were registered as an Intangible World Heritage by UNESCO.
