"The world's highest peak, climbing from 0m above sea level"
Talk event just before the challenge!
The full details of the Everest plan to depart in February next year
We will talk about the Manaslu expedition that will be undertaken this September.
What is the Everest SEA TO SUMMIT TO SEA Expedition?
From the Bay of Bengal to the world's highest peak and back to the sea again
There is a climbing method called "SEA TO SUMMIT" which aims to reach the summit from sea level, which is the standard altitude. Australian climber Tim McCartney-Snape achieved this for the first time on Mount Everest.
In the spring of 2025, Tim will begin his challenge at Ganga Sagar in the Bay of Bengal (Indian Ocean), at sea level, and walk over 1,000 km to reach the top of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. After achieving "SEA TO SUMMIT," he will descend the Himalayan valleys, travel by packraft down the Ganges River, which originates from Everest, and aim to return to the sea of the Bay of Bengal, "SUMMIT TO SEA." This four-month expedition is an ambitious plan that will take Tim's adventure one step further.

Mr. SEA TO SUMMIT
【profile】
Born May 11, 1990: Born in Konosu, Saitama Prefecture; currently living in Shinanomachi, Nagano Prefecture
An adventurer who challenges mountains both in Japan and abroad in the "SEA TO SUMMIT" style, which involves climbing mountains from the sea.
Born in Saitama on the day the world's first SEA TO SUMMIT of Mount Everest was achieved, he began the SEA TO SEVEN SUMMITS project in September 2018, aiming to reach the summits of the highest peaks on the seven continents using only human power, starting from sea level. He has now climbed five peaks. For the fifth peak, Denali (formerly McKinley), the highest peak in North America, he achieved the feat of reaching the 6,190m summit from the sea in 49 days and 422km with Daigo Funao and Akira Shibusawa. He is leading his rivals from New Zealand, the United States, Belgium, and Montenegro, aiming to be the first in the world to do so.
In the "SEA TO SUMMIT" style, they freely design routes that connect the sea to the mountains, and believe in combining various activities to enjoy nature in its entirety. They aim to convey the lifestyles and cultures of individuals in remote areas through their creative work.

【profile】
Born October 21, 1994 in Toyonaka, Osaka, currently residing in Sapporo, Hokkaido
He started mountaineering with the Hokkaido University Wandervogel Club and served as the 62nd captain. In February and March 2019, he traversed the entire Shiretoko Peninsula and Hidaka Mountains in one season, receiving the Hokkaido University Elm Award in 2019. In February and April 2022, he traversed the 670km watershed from Cape Soya in the northernmost part of Hokkaido to Cape Erimo alone in 63 days. The documentary program "The Great Silver Traverse," which followed his challenge, was broadcast nationwide on NHK General TV. He was later recognized for his unprecedented achievements and received the 27th Naomi Uemura Adventure Award and the Japan Mountaineering and Sport Climbing Association Mountaineering Encouragement Award.
I empathize with the idea of "SEA TO SUMMIT," and thinking back, I realize that my challenge to cross the Hokkaido Watershed in 2022 was also an STSTS. I hope that I will be able to reach new heights through the Everest STSTS expedition.
