SHIBUYA CAST SCHOOL 1st Craft Beer Seminar" will be held from April to June 2025, and participants will try their hand at brewing their own original beer at SHIBUYA CAST. The finished canned beer will be unveiled around September.

SCHOOL 1st Craft Beer Seminar] is a course to experience, learn, and connect with new "ideas" and "values" together with your friends in SHIBUYA CAST. The theme of the second session is "How to connect with the city and its people through craft beer. Participants will learn how beer connects people and spreads through the city by introducing examples of collaboration with various cultures and companies. The lecturers will be Hayato Yokouchi, who has been involved in a wide range of initiatives from the viewpoint of fan building as a PR person for "Yokohama Beer," and Genki Nakamura, who is involved in beer and other product development through community activities on Harajuku Cat Street and the "N.E.W.S project," which seeks ways to create food with producers from all over Japan. The second half of the lecture will feature an original beer theme. In the latter half of the lecture, a workshop will be held to discuss the theme of the original beer "SHIBUYA CAST" with participants.
■ Instructor profile
Hayato Yokouchi (CEO, Yokohama Fan Company Co., Ltd.)
After graduating from university, he joined a major food manufacturer and experienced sales, marketing, and sales manager. In 2016, he moved to Yokohama Beer, where he served as sales manager and PR/marketing general manager, before establishing the PR/fan project department and working with Kudo on PR activities. He plans and implements various projects related to beer, such as the Yokohama Beer Running Club, which combines beer and running, and the Yokohama Beer Bike, which combines beer and cycling. In addition, he collaborated with MUJI to develop a retort curry product called "Hamakura Curry," which won the top prize at Japan Open Innovation Fes 2023, one of Japan's largest open innovation conferences. The following year, he was interviewed and featured in Forbes Japan. He also gives lectures at various places, including universities and chambers of commerce in Yokohama, on the themes of beer, city development, and fan creation. In order to further develop his activities, he established Yokohama Fan Company Co., Ltd. on April 23, 2024.
Genki Nakamura (NEWS project Director)
In 2014, he started the local activity "CATs" on Cat Street in Harajuku. As it is the center of consumption, he experimentally builds relationships that cannot be bought with money, such as cleanups and composting fallen leaves from Omotesando, and takes actions to become a producer and create value. In 2018, he launched "530 (Zero Waste)", which proposes a "zero waste" lifestyle with the aim of fundamentally solving the garbage problem. He is currently working on the food project "NEWS project", which started in the summer of 2023 and is exploring the nature of "food" in modern times, by transforming ingredients filled with the passion of producers from all over Japan, north, south, east and west, into optimal processed products and sharing their appeal both domestically and internationally.

The four-part course will not only teach you the basics of beer brewing, but will also allow you to deepen your knowledge from multiple perspectives, such as the connection between craft beer and the city, and the concept of label design. In addition, the course content is designed to be enjoyable even for those who do not drink beer, and to provide new ideas through craft beer and to meet people with diverse backgrounds, so please feel free to join us if you are interested! In addition, a social gathering will be held in the second half of each course, providing a valuable opportunity to deepen your interactions with the various people involved with SHIBUYA CAST. (Non-alcoholic beverages and soft drinks will also be available.)
