■About the ars●bit project
The Beyond Creators Project "ars●bit" is a collaborative project between "art bit," a contemporary art and indie game exhibition series held annually at Hotel Anteroom Kyoto since 2021, and "404 Not Found," a new indie game mecca that opened at Shibuya Sakura Stage in Shibuya, Tokyo in July 2024. The project aims to discover, nurture, and support the global challenges of unprecedented cross-disciplinary artists and creators, with a focus on games and play.
We have now been selected for the "Creator/Artist Development Project (Cultural Arts Activities Infrastructure Strengthening Fund)" and are finally about to begin full-scale operations. The "Cultural Arts Activities Infrastructure Strengthening Fund" is a new fund established by the Japan Arts Council, an independent administrative institution, with subsidies from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, with the aim of providing flexible, multi-year support for the development of the next generation of creators and artists, and for strengthening the next-generation functions of cultural facilities that serve as venues for their activities and dissemination.
Based in Shibuya and Kyoto, the international exchange hubs, this project aims to cultivate a new market and foster a cultural context originating from Japan through a wide range of activities, including supporting the production of works through seminars, study groups and creative jams for artists and creators, holding exhibitions and events that provide a venue for presenting works both domestically and internationally, and even exhibiting at international game shows and art fairs.
■Organizer: Shibuya Asobiba Production Committee / 404 Not Found
■Grant: Fund for Strengthening the Foundation for Cultural and Artistic Activities (Project to Support the Development of Creators and High Added Value in Cultural Facilities) | Japan Arts Council
