JustCo, a Singapore-based company that provides premium co-working spaces and shared offices, will be co-hosting with ASUNOHA, a general incorporated association that promotes gender equality, a two-day talk event and workshop to deepen understanding of diversity and inclusion (DE&I) on June 5th and 6th, 2024, entitled "Diversity Bootcamp: It's time to seriously feel a sense of urgency. Two days to seriously make diversity your own."
What kind of society can LGBTQ+ people live as normal people?
Why is there still no improvement in information and transportation access for people with disabilities?
Why is the gender gap not closing in educational advancement and leadership positions?
Even though diverse people already exist in society, why do prejudices and institutional flaws that seem to ignore their existence persist?
On the first day, we will invite six well-known speakers with diverse perspectives to hold a talk event where they will discuss the state of a diverse society from their own perspective. On the second day, we will deliver "Experiences and Empathy" in the form of a workshop to explain in an easy-to-understand manner why a society that embraces diversity is necessary.
Prejudice and inequalities in social systems are all connected, and we hope that this event will make it easy for everyone to understand this and make things easier for them, and that you will take home some tips for living in a diverse society.
[How to participate]
You can apply for either day alone or for both days.
All participation is free.
Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Day 2 is a workshop to concretely think about the barriers in society for various minority groups, in order to visualize the privileges that the majority unconsciously hold. For those who have actually experienced barriers or discrimination in society, it will likely remind you of those experiences. If you feel uncomfortable, please feel free to leave. If you have any concerns, please let us know when you register.
