JICA Project History "Manga Version" Seminar

Thinking about global issues and the state of international cooperation through JICA projects that Japan is proud of

The "JICA Project History Manga Seminar," which will consider international cooperation in a new era, will be held at Shibuya Hikarie 8/COURT on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

This seminar is an opportunity to learn about the role of international cooperation carried out by JICA and the passion and efforts of the people involved, while also thinking about international cooperation in the new era. JICA has published a manga version of its project history to convey the project history in an easy-to-understand manner to young people who will be the future of international cooperation projects.

In the first half of the event, one of the manga versions, "Learning to Open the Future - Anytime, Anywhere, Anyone," will be featured, and the main character, Tomoho Ohashi, will take to the stage. Ohashi has been working on an education project in Pakistan for about 15 years, and will give a lecture about her experience overcoming numerous difficulties.

In the second half of the event, we will welcome Hajime, an educational YouTuber who provides free lessons on YouTube to provide educational opportunities to children. The two, who are working hard through education in Japan and Pakistan, will talk about the power of education to open up children's futures under the theme of "a society where everyone can receive an education." There will also be time for a Q&A session from the audience, deepening understanding of international cooperation projects.
