The annual "Tokyo Camera Club 2025 Photo Exhibition," organized by "Tokyo Camera Club," one of Japan's largest photography communities with approximately 5.75 million fans, will be held in Hall A on the 9th floor Shibuya Hikarie from Friday, September 12th, 2025 to Monday, September 15th, 2025 (national holiday).
Tokyo Camera Club began its activities on Facebook in 2012. With the motto of "Don't be afraid of different likes, and don't give up on connecting with others through what you like," the site is now a highly-supported photo submission site with a screening system. The exhibition is held every year as an offline event that has branched out from social media, and this year marks its 13th anniversary.
This year's theme is "connection." The theme embodies the idea that sharing the emotion of "love" can bring people together, transcending differences in culture and sensibility. The venue will feature a joint exhibition featuring the "Tokyo Camera Club Top 10 2024," selected from photos introduced in 2024, along with new and old works by past members of the Top 10. Additionally, the exhibition will include works selected from the "100 Scenes of Japan Photography <Four Seasons> 2025" photo contest, which aims to support scenic spots across Japan, the "Tokyo Camera Club 3x3 Photo Contest 2025," and prize-winning works from the "Tokyo Camera Club Movie Creators Award 2025 at Hikarie" video category for video creators, bringing the total to approximately 1,133 works.
In addition to the exhibits, each company will have a special booth, with OM Digital Solutions offering hands-on experience with their latest model, the OM-3, and Leica Camera Japan and Panasonic exhibiting works from Tokyo by photographer John Cypal. Furthermore, local governments from around the country, including the Koriyama area of Fukushima Prefecture and Higashikawa Town in Hokkaido, will be participating, showcasing winning works from photo contests showcasing the charms of their respective regions.
During the event, there will also be talk shows and seminars by famous photographers and business people on themes such as "Learning how to look at photography from famous paintings," "Discovering new interests on Pinterest," and "The current state of the next generation of creators." Some of the events require advance reservations.
We live in an age where anyone can take excellent photos with a smartphone, even without a professional camera. We hope that you will learn about composition and ideas through the award-winning works and try them out for yourself. It will surely lead to new encounters and discoveries.
