Seminars and networking events for people involved in new businesses

【Event Summary】
Seminar and networking event to be held offline only on Thursday, March 6th!
Kazuya Zaitsu, a serial entrepreneur who has successfully launched four internal ventures and is currently the CEO of Pondetech Co., Ltd., a new company born out of the Kansai Electric Power Group, will be speaking at the event!

This time, we will be inviting Kazuya Zaitsu, CEO of Pondetech Co., Ltd., who is the leader of the Kansai Electric Power Group's new business ventures and has attracted attention for his innovative business development. Mr. Zaitsu has launched numerous new businesses and created value by leveraging partnerships both inside and outside the group. He has now established Pondetech Co., Ltd. as part of Kansai Electric Power's next-generation strategy, and is working to provide new solutions that go beyond the boundaries of the energy industry.

The Kansai Electric Power Group is actively engaged in new business development and open innovation, aiming to create new value beyond the scope of the energy business. We are pursuing next-generation energy solutions, including the use of renewable energy and digital technology, and are challenging ourselves to solve various social issues. At the heart of this is the promotion of open innovation, which deepens collaboration with startup companies, academic institutions, and different industries. By collaborating with domestic and international partners, we are creating new business models and services that go beyond the scope of the traditional power business. This is a big step toward improving energy efficiency, revitalizing local communities, and realizing a sustainable society. We have also introduced an in-house acceleration program specialized in new businesses, creating an environment that fosters the entrepreneurial spirit of employees. We are working to create new businesses that combine knowledge from inside and outside the company.

Pondetech Co., Ltd., founded by Zaitsu, is a next-generation company established to take on new business development for the Kansai Electric Power Group. After cleaning and replacing used PCs from companies, the company works with a special subsidiary that employs many people with disabilities to sell the refurbished PCs through its own e-commerce site, "PC next." This model simultaneously solves three social issues: expanding employment for people with disabilities, reducing electronic waste and CO2 emissions, and eliminating the digital divide. The company is working to solve social issues and create new value beyond the existing framework of the energy industry. The company's business has attracted attention as "opening up new possibilities for electric power companies," and has attracted a lot of interest from other industries.

We will learn how to lay the groundwork for business creation by listening to actual case studies.
