Hello! I'm Mashikomyu from the official community of Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture.

Hayase Yuki, aka "Hayapi" from Midnight Breakfast, the popular restaurant that opens the earliest in Mashiko and closes the earliest, along with Sakai Yuuga from Made in and local residents of Mashiko town will be coming to SHIBUYA QWS!

Hayase opened a cafe that was the predecessor to his current store in Mashiko Town in March 2022.

With the desire to create a place that would be more than just a cafe, but a community space for people, we renovated a gas station that hadn't been used for over 30 years and launched the cafe "Midnight Breakfast" and upcycling lab "Made in" in spring 2024.

In order to further revitalize the local area, we plan to open a lodging facility in the summer of 2025 where people can experience "living in Mashiko."

Prior to the opening of the inn, we will be discussing ways to revitalize the local area by utilizing the three content elements of the inn: cafe, lab, and inn.
We will hold a workshop where participants and the people of Mashiko town can think together.

In this workshop, we imagined Mashiko Town in 2040, considered its hopes and challenges, and
We would like to discuss solutions in groups that involve "living (accommodation)," "meeting (cafe)," and "moving (lab)."
Residents who are familiar with the current situation in Mashiko Town will also be joining the group to speak, so we hope to be able to have a more in-depth discussion.

◆Speakers◆

Midnight Breakfast Representative: Tomoki Hayase
Born in Moka City, Tochigi Prefecture.
After studying abroad in the United States and doing a working holiday in Taiwan, he worked as a local revitalization volunteer in Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture, and in March 2022 he opened Midnight Breakfast, the town's challenge shop that opens the earliest in the morning and closes the earliest in Mashiko.
After the two-year period of the Challenge Shop expires, they will launch "Midnight Breakfast" and "Made in" at the old gas station site in spring 2024. They are currently working towards opening an inn in parallel with the cafe operation.

Two years ago, he started living in Japan, where his parents' roots lie.
Until then, I had experience in education and social welfare for immigrants in Germany.
He has a wide range of perspectives and experience, including managing multiple restaurants and providing IT consulting to the government.
Currently, he is creating new values and connections with Midnight Breakfast.
