"Shaun the Sheep" 30th Anniversary Exhibition in Shibuya, Including World Premiere of Film Set
Collaboration with miniature photographer Tatsuya Tanaka
2025-05-16
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the British clay animation "Shaun the Sheep," the "Shaun the Sheep Exhibition with Wallace and Gromit" opened on May 16th at the Tokyo Anime Center in DNP PLAZA SHIBUYA on the 2nd floor of Shibuya MODI.
The exhibition was planned as a place to rediscover the charm of the "Shaun the Sheep" and "Wallace and Gromit" series, for which Tohokushinsha holds the license. The "Shaun the Sheep Exhibition," which has toured the country, has been revamped to mark its 30th anniversary, and this exhibition is structured in a new way to fully introduce the behind-the-scenes of the masterpieces created by British Aardman Animations through approximately 260 pieces of concept art and dioramas actually used in filming, as well as special exhibits that are being shown for the first time in the world and Japan.

The highlight of the exhibition is the world's first public display of the actual filming set for the latest TV series, Shaun the Sheep Series 7. In addition, from the Wallace & Gromit series, an exhibition of memorable scenes from Aardman Animations' latest film, Wallace & Gromit: Retribution, produced in 2024, will be shown for the first time in Japan, and valuable materials used in the filming of the 1995 short film, Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave, in which Shaun made his screen debut, will also be on display.

The exhibition will include new miniature works commemorating the 30th anniversary, and you can enjoy a unique world view that combines clay animation and miniature art.
