2026-01-14
The food event "SAKANA & JAPAN FESTIVAL 2026 in Yoyogi Park," which brings together seafood delicacies from all over Japan, will be held at the Yoyogi Park Event Square and Zelkova Avenue from February 20th to 23rd. The event is organized by the SAKANA & JAPAN FESTIVAL Executive Committee.
The festival was launched in 2019 with the aim of "revitalizing Japan's fish-eating culture." The previous event, held at Yoyogi Park, was a huge success, attracting approximately 240,000 visitors over four days.
On the day of the event, there will be around 80 booths offering seafood dishes from all over Japan. You can enjoy a wide variety of dishes, including seafood bowls, hotpot dishes, and grilled dishes. There will also be a live tuna filleting show every day, where visitors can see the tuna being filleted right in front of them.

This year, the "Discover Fukushima! Fish Festival" will be held at the same time to support the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. Guests can enjoy local dishes such as seafood bowls made with "jobanmono" seafood caught off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture, grilled sea urchin shellfish, and grilled pacific saury popo-yaki. There will also be an area called "Eat and Support Japan's Blessings," which will feature seafood dishes from Hokkaido and Tohoku, promoting efforts to support Japan's fishing industry.
The Fukushima Sweets Festival will also be held, selling sweets jointly developed by high school students and famous pastry chefs. Four types of sweets will be sold exclusively using local specialties: kiwifruit from Okuma Town, passion fruit from Tomioka Town, sweet potato from Naraha Town, and bananas from Hirono Town. The festival will convey the message of support for reconstruction efforts under the theme of "Supporting Fukushima with the power of sweets."
Why not experience the charms and fish-eating culture of each region while tasting seafood from all over Japan?
20th to 22nd: 10am to 8pm, final day 23rd: until 6pm.
