Dr. Koji Nakao
Advisor of Japan Biodesign Academic Society
A veteran of the MedTech industry, Dr. Koji Nakao brings decades of expertise, having served as Chairperson of the Japan Medical Device Industry Association and held leadership roles at Terumo Corporation until 2016. Since then, he has dedicated his career to MedTech innovation and university education, advising startups and public companies in the field. In 2023, he authored Design Thinking and MedTech Innovation, offering valuable insights into the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Stefan Sacre
Board Member at CKD Corporation
With a distinguished career as a CEO in multiple high-tech industries, Stefan has led companies in factory automation, sealing technology, and medical technologies. His expertise spans strategic leadership, business transformation, and cross-border innovation. He is also the owner of 4a Plus Corporation, a strategy consultancy specializing in strategy development and CEO coaching. Stefan holds advanced degrees in Physics (MSc), Materials Science (PhD), and Business Administration (MBA). Since first arriving in Japan in 1992, he has been deeply involved in Japanese-German business relations, having spent over half his career living and working in Japan.

Dr. Carolina Kawakubo
Representative Director and President of NRW.Global Business Japan
Based in Tokyo, Dr. Carolina is a highly experienced international marketing and business development professional with a PhD in Business Management and Economics from the University of Düsseldorf. Prior to her current role, she served as Regional Market Strategy Manager at Henkel and held various other positions in marketing and management. She also used to be a Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (AHK Japan).

As a specialist in business incubation, Alex has been involved in the launch of numerous startups and new business development of companies. He focuses on various activities to connect the innovation ecosystems in Japan and overseas and has been involved in innovation-related initiatives in collaboration with embassies and startup support organizations in Canada, Germany, France, Estonia, etc. He is a J-Startup nomination committee member, Tokyo Startup Fellow, Start2 Group Japan Representative, Operation Manager of Endeavor Japan, and others.

ConBotics
ConBotics revolutionizes construction with various easy-to-use robots. Their first market-ready product is the MalerRoboter, the world’s lightest painting robot that makes interior finishing effortless and efficient. The robot weighs 130 kg and has a 6-hour changeable battery life, able to cover 1,000 sqm of painting a day. Their hardware and software was developed in-house and optimized for use on construction sites.

LAIFE
Nexnote, developed by LAIFE, is an AI-powered voice recording and transcription tool for doctors and dentists. It offers customisable prompts, on-premises deployment, GDPR compliance, and seamless integration. They are currently working with Fujitsu Large Language Model to adapt their solution for the Japanese market.

Workist
Workist offers a fully automated end-to-end solution for document processing in Procurement and Sales departments. The software captures, validates and transfers all relevant information from receipts to ERP systems. Workist enables the back-office team to be more efficient. The solution is language-agnostic and is integrated with existing Enterprise-Resource Planning systems in the market.

VanOnGo
VanOnGo aims to enhance the delivery experience through a client-focused logistics technology. They offer a delivery platform to enhance last-mile and in-field services with robotic process automation. Using their platform, businesses can digitalise the delivery process and reduce operation costs by 10-20%. Their solution supports Japanese maps and addresses.

Elephantech
Pioneers low-carbon PCB production with metal inkjet printing, boasting a 75% CO2 emissions cut and 95% less water usage compared to traditional methods. This innovative approach addresses environmental concerns in various applications, from computer peripherals to sensors.
