"Shibuya Real Squid Game," an experiential event where you can experience the unique world of the Netflix series "Squid Game," which has become a global social phenomenon, will be held on the third floor of Tokyu Plaza Shibuya, a commercial facility within Shibuya Fukuras, from January 16 to July 20, 2026.

Netflix's survival thriller "Squid Game" tells the story of people who are stuck in a dead end, saddled with huge debts and troubles, who take on the challenge of a "life-changing" challenge. In pursuit of a huge prize, they become embroiled in a "children's game" where losing means instant death. Since its release in 2021, it has become the biggest global hit among non-English language works. Season 3, which premiered in June 2025, topped the top 10 in 93 countries and regions during its first week of release, garnering over 60 million views in just three days.

The "Real Squid Game" is an experiential event that first took place in New York in 2024 and has since gained popularity in Madrid and Seoul. Tokyu Land Corporation has received a license from Netflix, and this will be the first time it is held in Japan as a joint venture with KX Korea and Dentsu Music & Entertainment.

Up to 20 people will participate in the real-life event at the same time, and over the course of about 90 minutes they will take on six different games that appear in the series, including "Daruma-san ga Koronda," "Tug of War," and "Marble Game." Participants will have their faces scanned to register as players, and one winner will be determined in a knockout format. This content can be enjoyed even if you have not seen the series.

In addition, the venue will also feature a photo spot, collaboration cafe, and "Yonhee's Playground" selling original goods, providing fans with more to enjoy than just the game experience.

It is anticipated that this will become a new experiential tourist attraction for Shibuya, which attracts many domestic fans as well as inbound foreign tourists.

The exhibition will run until July 20, 2026. Tickets will go on sale in mid-November.
