On August 22nd, we will be holding a workcation event at Shibuya QWS connecting Tokyo → Myoko → Sado!
For those who are interested in workation and want to experience a new way of working in the naturally rich Sado and Myoko.
Why not try a new style of working while refreshing in nature? The beautiful sea of Sado and the majestic mountains of Myoko will make your retreat experience even more alluring.

We welcome a wide range of people, including those who are interested in workation, those who want to try a new way of working using remote work, and those who want to experience life in the countryside.

We will introduce the charms of each region and their workation initiatives from Sado, Myoko, and JR East!
The speakers from Sado and Myoko will be Mr. Ito, who runs HOSTELperch, a hot sauna coworking space in Sado, and Mr. Goto from flags Niigata, who is working to create a shared office in the hotel at the Lotte Arai Resort in Myoko City. And from JR East, we will hear a talk about transportation for workcation!

Characteristics of Sado:
An island with beautiful seas, abundant nature, history and culture such as gold mines and Japanese crested ibises. It offers a rich natural environment, various co-working spaces including within the ferry terminal, excellent facilities, unique experiences, interaction with the local community, tourism and a support system in place.
Myoko's features:
A resort where you can enjoy majestic mountains, hot springs, skiing, and spectacular views of the four seasons. It is characterized by its natural environment and collaboration with ZOOM, offering special experiences such as MYOKOBASECAMP and parent-child workcation, as well as community interaction.

In addition to the speakers Ito and Goto, Ayumi Yamamoto (e-lamp. Inc.), a QWS member who enjoys workation herself, will be discussing the appeal of workation while sharing her own experiences!
19:10~ Mini Workshop
Theme: "If I were to work remotely, this is something I can't miss"
This will be a mini workshop where participants can exchange opinions about workation and retreat trips.

Speakers:
👤 Wataru Ito, CEO of Perch Inc. / CEO of B2P Inc.
Born in Sado City in 1981, he worked in the food and beverage industry before opening HOSTELperch in 2018. Although he was affected by COVID-19 about a year after opening, he set up a sauna in a renovated storehouse and a co-working room. In 2022, HOSTELperch was incorporated. b2p Inc. was established with joint investment from Backpackers' Japan Inc., Beer Pint Inc., and perch Inc. He renovated the Sekisaki Campsite in Niigata Prefecture, built a sauna and accommodation facilities, and began operating ist - Sado (Sekisaki Campsite in Niigata Prefecture) in April 2024.

👤Ayumi Yamamoto, CEO and Founder of e-lamp Inc.
Born in 2001 in Obihiro, Hokkaido. Started business in his second year of high school. Produces multiple businesses in the entertainment and education fields. Graduated from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Keio University (conceived the idea for e-lamp. in 2020 while still a student), and will enter the Graduate School of Media Design at the same university in spring 2023. In graduate school, he will be engaged in social biofeedback research in the HCI field. Selected for the MITOU Advanced Program in 2022. Has appeared in numerous media outlets as a STEAM talent.

🚄Transportation:
Shinkansen: Take the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Joetsu Myoko Station (approximately 2 hours)
Car: Tokyo IC to Myoko SA (approx. 3 hours 50 minutes)
🎪 Recommended spots in Myoko City:
Myoko Kogen: Home to hot springs, ski resorts and nature.
Imori Pond: A place where you can enjoy beautiful natural scenery.
Hot Springs: Relaxing hot springs are dotted around the area.

🚢Transportation:
Train and ferry: Take the train from Joetsu Myoko Station to Naoetsu Station (take a taxi or bus from Naoetsu Station to Naoetsu Port), then take the car ferry from Naoetsu Port to Ogi Port (approx. 2 hours 40 minutes).
🎪 Recommended spots in Sado:
Sado Gold Mine: A historic gold mine.
Toki Forest Park: A conservation facility for ibises.
Senkaku Bay: Beautiful coastline and steep cliffs.

🚄Transportation:
Ferry and Shinkansen: Take a car ferry (approx. 2 hours 30 minutes) or a jetfoil (approx. 1 hour 7 minutes) from Ryotsu Port to Niigata Port, then take a bus from Niigata Port to Niigata Station, then take the Joetsu Shinkansen to Tokyo Station (approx. 2 hours 30 minutes)
🎪Recommended spots in Niigata City:
Around Ryotsu Port: There are plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants.
Niigata City: Visit tourist attractions such as Ponshukan and enjoy gourmet food such as sauce cutlet and Neapolitan pasta.
