On Thursday, September 26th, we will be holding the "Connect with Fujieda City and Start a Business! - Fujieda Future Co-Creation Conference" with the participation of Fujieda City Deputy Mayor Kazuyuki Kono, who is helping the Enthusiastic Regional Revitalization Venture Alliance (Netsuben) with its entrepreneurial support efforts.

In preparation for the business contest "Fujieda Innovation Stadium 2024" to be held in January next year, Fujieda City will be implementing various initiatives, such as matching events with local companies and financial institutions in Fujieda City and consulting support for the content of contest proposals. This kick-off event will feature appearances by Narumi Shimura, CEO of ABC Cooking Studio, who served as a judge for last year's BizCon, Masaki Tanaka, Business Promotion Manager at SB InnoVenture, and Haruki Ezaki of Fujieda Ezaki Newspaper Store, the BizCon secretariat.

In addition, many employees from Fujieda City's planning and industrial departments will also be participating on the day, so we think we can meet the needs of venture companies who want to "connect with the local government!" and "find out what kind of mindset the employees have when they work!" In addition, this time the event is not limited to Neben members, but is open to the general public, so we hope to have plenty of time for participants to interact with each other.

Kazuyuki Kono (Deputy Mayor of Fujieda City)

Under the current mayor of Fujieda, he has served as Director of the Fujieda City Planning and Finance Department since October 2008, and is working to make Fujieda a "happy town" in cooperation with ICT and industry. In April 2015, he was appointed Deputy Mayor of Fujieda City, a position he holds to this day.

Narumi Shimura (CEO, ABC Cooking Studio Co., Ltd.)

Founder of ABC Cooking Studio, Japan's largest cooking school. With a completely new idea, she transformed the cooking school, which had traditionally been a place for bride training, into a bright and beautiful space with all-glass walls, for casual enjoyment. She is challenging herself to innovate and create value for ABC Cooking Studio, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Masaki Tanaka (General Manager, Business Promotion Department, SB Innoventure Corporation)

After working for a travel venture, he worked in marketing at SoftBank Corp. Since 2016, he has worked at SB Innoventure, where he is involved in planning new business systems for the SoftBank Group, as well as business creation and development support. From 2022, he will also work at STATION Ai, where he will support and invest in startups.

Haruki Ezaki (CEO of Fujieda Ezaki Newspaper Co., Ltd.)

A communicator who connects all the people, things, and events in Fujieda while developing community contribution projects. In 2022, he opened the co-working space "Future Co-Creation Lab Fujikichi" and "Ehra BASE" (in front of Fujieda Station) in front of Fujieda Station. In addition to his main job, he serves as vice chairman of the Fujieda Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the Fujieda City Tourism Association.

Up until now, when Neben has held study sessions, we have basically always invited the ``mayor'' to attend, but this time, for the first time, we have decided to invite the ``deputy mayor'' to hold a study session.

They play an important role within the local government that requires a great sense of balance: they are both a leader in the sense of being the practical head of the department, and a follower in the sense of being a good assistant to the mayor.

To be more specific, if something happens to the mayor, the deputy mayor will run the government organization on his behalf (leadership role), and while the mayor makes the final decisions, it is natural that the deputy mayor will get approval first (follower role).
