A mobile store of Okinawan pottery specialty store "mofgmona no zakka" will be opened at Shibuya Hikarie 8F gallery space CUBE1, 2, and 3 from Saturday, December 7, 2024 to Sunday, December 22, 2024. During the event, the venue will be decorated with a lively atmosphere, like a "small Okinawan pottery market."

In 2002, he and three friends from his university days opened a cafe called "mofgmona" in Ginowan, Okinawa. After that, he opened a general store called "mofgmona no zakka" that handles local tableware, and started operating as a select shop that mainly handles tableware made by artists and workshops active in Okinawa. He selects tableware that fits into everyday life from the perspective of being able to feel the "presence of the maker," and offers a wide selection of not only traditional "Yachimun" pottery, but also original works by contemporary artists.

Since 2010, they have been holding "mobile stores" all over Japan and overseas, and have been successful in Paris, Taipei, Chiang Mai, New York and other places. The mobile store opening in Shibuya this time will bring together works selected from about 50 artists and workshops. Specific suggestions will be given on how each piece of pottery can add color to your life. The exhibited works range from pottery and glass to woodwork, and include works by Okinawa's leading artists such as Yomitanzan Yaki Kitagama, Workshop Iroha, Glass Workshop Seiten and Goematsu Workshop, offering a glimpse into the world of "Okinawan pottery." The exhibited works vary depending on the date, so you can have fun choosing the day you visit.
