The Huffington Post Japan has launched a new social change project, "Creating the Future of DEI," with the Asahi Shimbun, on the theme of DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion). A roundtable will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. We are looking for participants.
The theme was about the diversity strategies that companies need to avoid "the bad end 10 years from now." How is the promotion of diversity, including women's participation in the workforce, related to business growth?
We will explain the key points to concretely advance diversity in your company, such as how to know which step your company is currently at and how to collect your company's data to improve diversity.
We will also introduce the path that two companies have taken to improve their diversity strategies, using case studies of a beverage manufacturer and a systems company.
Our guest will be Atsuko Horie, CEO of Sourire, who has provided diversity promotion training and consulting to a variety of companies, including some of Japan's leading companies. As a specialist member of the Gender Equality Bureau of the Cabinet Office, she was involved in the formulation of the 5th Basic Plan for Gender Equality, and currently serves as an expert member of the Children and Families Agency. Horie has been active on the front lines of diversity promotion, and her recent book, "Starting Human Capital Management with Women's Participation," has also been well received.
There will also be group work where participants can hold discussions among themselves. Together with people from companies involved in DEI, we will search for concrete hints that will be useful in the workplace from tomorrow.
There will also be a simple social gathering after the event.
We hope that this will be an opportunity for you to find mentorship through networking that transcends company and industry boundaries, promote DEI throughout society, and spread momentum for growth.
