In the fourth year of Shibuya Web3 University, we will be focusing on security as the most important theme as we prepare for the full launch of Web3.
In March 2026, the term "Web3" disappeared from Japan's growth strategy. This is not the end, but the beginning of a return to the essentials.

Back in the early 2000s, there was a time when people said, "The internet is dead." But behind the scenes, communication infrastructure and data distribution were steadily evolving, giving rise to a massive industry. The same is true now. Excessive expectations and speculation have simply been curbed, but the essential evolution of "reliable data distribution" and distributed technologies has not stopped.

And now, we're finally entering a truly interesting phase.

As cutting-edge technologies become part of society's infrastructure, a foundation of institutional trust is just as important as the evolution of the technology itself. Japan is currently leading the world in developing legal frameworks in the cryptocurrency and Web3 domains, and fostering cross-industry security cooperation mechanisms. The environment for technology to take root in society is steadily being put in place.

Genuine businesses and investments will gather in markets where security measures are in place and the legal framework is clearly defined. This is the gateway to a great opportunity for Japan to take on the role of the next generation standard for Web3.

In 2019, he was selected as a leading entrepreneur in the blockchain industry for Forbes Next Under 30 and BUSINESS INSIDER's "BEYOND MILLENNIALS." He has authored books such as "Introduction to Blockchain," "The Future Envisioned by Blockchain," "Illustrated Guide to Future IT: Blockchain Business of the Future," "Super Beginner's Guide to Blockchain," and "Illustrated Guide to Future Business: NFTs of the Future."

Since graduating from university, I have worked in sales, planning, and as a technical manager at IT companies, and have served as the Japan representative for several foreign-owned IT companies. I have always focused on participating in companies that are pioneering cutting-edge technological fields overseas, and introducing those technologies to Japanese customers to strengthen their competitiveness. In 2022, I encountered Chainalysis, Inc., which realizes blockchain analysis and visualization, and joined the company, resonating with its mission to realize a safe, secure, and reliable blockchain through the provision of products and services. Since then, I have been engaged in market education activities and business development.
