[Speaker profile]
Mari Kobayashi
Specially Appointed Professor, AI and Advanced Programming Consortium, Keio University
Visiting Researcher, Institute for Medical Regulatory Science, Waseda University
Part-time Lecturer, Graduate School of Health and Sports Science, Toyo University
For 28 years, I worked at a major electronics manufacturer, gaining diverse experience in areas such as basic research, recruitment, and overseas assignments. For the latter 10 years of my career, I collaborated as a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Biomedical Engineering and Science, a joint facility of Tokyo Women's Medical University and Waseda University, on research to "create a pulsating tubular artificial heart from iPS cells," earning a PhD in Biomedical Science. My experience on the front lines of research and development taught me that innovation is not born from technology alone; the key lies in the "people" who drive it. Currently, as a university professor, I leverage my understanding of both industry and academia to cultivate individuals who can create new value by integrating knowledge in the health and medical fields with cutting-edge AI technology.
