Can you fight for 24 hours?

On August 22nd, an experiential event recreating a Showa-era office, titled "SHOWA Work, Show a Work. Experience a Showa-era office in a co-working space," began at "Creative Lounge MOV" on the 8th floor Shibuya Hikarie Hikarie.
This project is part of "SHIBUYA WANDERING CRAFT 2026," currently being held on the 8th floor Shibuya Hikarie. The venue, "aiiima 1&2" inside MOV, recreates a former office scene with gray steel desks, black telephones, paper documents, glass ashtrays, and other items.

The desks in the venue are adorned with ashtrays overflowing with cigarette butts and bottles of "Regain," an energy drink known in the late 1980s for its slogan, "Can you work 24 hours straight?" Thick phone books and notebooks filled with client phone numbers are also on display, showcasing a way of working from before the widespread adoption of smartphones and paperless systems.
The event will touch upon workplace customs of the time, such as long working hours, pay envelopes, and drinking with colleagues, and will feature trivia throughout the venue comparing working styles in the Showa era with those of today.
As part of the experiential event, they will also be holding a "Proposal Document Stamp Rally." This event recreates the "approval culture" of the past, where a single proposal document would be passed from the person in charge to the chief, section chief, department head, manager, and finally the president, with each person signing it for their approval.
Participants receive a sheet resembling a proposal form at the reception desk and use the clues written on it to find exhibits representing different positions such as team leader, section chief, department head, and general manager. They stamp their seals at each location, and once they collect all the exhibits up to the final approval, they receive a commemorative gift.
The questions will include elements that evoke the image of a Showa-era office worker, such as the supervisor's source of energy, the personal organizer used by the well-informed section chief, the department head's favorite drink, and the golf-loving manager.
Why not relive the Showa era work style by comparing it to how we work now?
11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Free admission. Until August 31st.
