This workshop provides an opportunity to learn and exchange opinions about various forms of work and employment, including social farms, given the differences in laws, systems, religions, etc. between countries.

Have you heard of social firms?
A workplace where everyone can work happily.

Even if there are setbacks, failures, difficulties, and obstacles,
I want to live in a society where anyone who wants to work can do so.
A "social farm" is a company that supports such a society.
But social farms are not special places. They are just ordinary companies.
It's a normal company, but it's a place where people with difficult circumstances can work too.

What is a social farm?
How do the people who work there work?
How can we become a social farm?
Learn about the ideas and practices of social farms,
Let's think together and create a future where everyone can work prosperously.

Last year (2023), we heard about the origins of social farms, an example from Italy, and real stories from people working and managers at companies certified as social farms in Tokyo.

This year (2024), we will again be learning about the concept of social farms from a different angle and hearing real stories from companies that are putting it into practice.
I think that not only first-time participants, but also those who participated last year, will be able to learn something new.
Please join us.

For the first session, we will welcome Matsumoto Katsuo, who has worked in international cooperation at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as well as employment support work in six countries: Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Bhutan, Nepal, and India. We will hear about the various forms of "work and employment" that exist within each country, with differences in laws, systems, religion, etc. We will also have a dialogue with other participants and an exchange of opinions with Matsumoto.
