Service Design Scramble vol.14
New service idea workshop to think up other companies' services
In "Service Design Scramble," participants from various industries and professions form one team,
This is a co-creation workshop where participants will come up with ideas for new services based on the challenges facing the theme owner's company.
<About>
To break common sense, you have to perceive common sense
We are currently in a complex and unpredictable age, often referred to as the VUCA era.
It is extremely difficult to give a definitive answer as to what is right and what is wrong.
In times like these, what is required of business people is
In order to transform businesses and organizations, it can be said that it requires imagination that is not bound by stereotypes or existing common sense, and a driving force for co-creation that transcends organizational boundaries.
In order to develop these abilities, first visualize your unconscious "obviousness" and "preconceptions."
We combine people and ideas with different perspectives and positions to lead to new discoveries.
A lively workshop held at QWS: Participants gathered in groups and held discussions using Post-it notes.
Free yourself from your own preconceptions and co-create
"Service Design Scramble" is a co-creation workshop in which participants from various industries and occupations form a team and brainstorm ideas for a new service based on a challenge facing the theme owner's company.
The process of working on the project reverses conventional wisdom, allowing participants to work together as a team while dissolving their own preconceptions, creating a sense of co-creation that leads to unexpected ideas.
Participants will experience how coming up with ideas for others can give them a new perspective, and how coming up with ideas "on their own" without being bound by industry norms can lead to new ideas.

■ Impressions from past participants
・The workshop design had a good balance of divergence and convergence, and led to good ideation. I learned a lot from it. (Newspaper company/editor)
・It was a very educational time for me as it provided a framework for thinking up ideas. Also, by discussing with people from other companies, I was able to see areas that had been rigid in my own mind and perspectives that I was lacking. (Manufacturing/Marketing)
・I was surprised that I came up with such an interesting idea. (Marketing industry, planner)
・In the field, there are many discussions among homogeneous members from the perspective of coordination costs, so this type of workshop was meaningful. (CEO, sports industry)
・There are ways of thinking that are difficult to come up with within the closed thinking of individuals or within one's own organization, and I was reminded that it is important to have a place where diverse people can intersect. (IT and communications industry, new business development)
[Limited to 6 companies] We are looking for theme owners!
As a theme owner, you can set your company's business issues as themes.
Why not take this opportunity to become a theme owner and use the power of diverse perspectives to find the seeds of ideas that defy conventional wisdom?
