Moyai is an organization whose mission is to solve poverty in Japan. In this lecture, we will talk about the challenges women face from the perspective of poverty.
First, we will provide an overview of the current state of poverty in Japan, and then use specific examples to explain the social structure that makes women more susceptible to poverty, as well as the problems of poverty and isolation that women face when trying to escape violence.
In today's Japanese society, there is still a structure that makes women more likely to fall into poverty than men. In the second half of the lecture, we will consider, through lectures and participatory workshops, how each of us can change our behavior and way of thinking in our daily lives in order to achieve gender equality.
How can we correct the social structure that makes women more susceptible to poverty simply because they are women?
Also, how can we create a society where women can connect to the systems and support they need when they find themselves in poverty or isolated situations?
Rather than viewing this as a women's issue, let's think together about how each of us can get involved in this issue as a societal problem!
