The "Winter Local Ice Cream Festival 2026," an event that brings together local ice creams from all over Japan, will be held from January 30th to February 23rd at "Hobonichi Sunday" on the 8th floor of Shibuya PARCO.
The event, which was first held last year and was well-received, has been expanded in scale for its second edition. Approximately 90 types of ice cream will be gathered from 30 stores across 21 prefectures. The products on display at the venue will be centered around those introduced by writer and essayist Kai Minori in her book "Ice Journey" (Graphic-sha), with the addition of new ice creams that have been discovered in recent years. There will be a wide selection, from nostalgic classics to regional limited editions that are rare in Tokyo, and you can purchase them at the venue and enjoy them on the spot, or take them home to enjoy.

Left: "Karankaran Ice Cream" from Fujita Ice Cream Shop in Aomori Prefecture. Its charming color and shape are its defining features. Right: "Pudding Soft," a local ice cream from Mie Prefecture. Its flavor combines pudding and soft serve ice cream.
Highlights include local items that evoke memories of the place, such as "Karankaran Ice Cream" from Fujita Ice Cream Shop in Aomori Prefecture, "Bravo Ice Cream" from Kochi Prefecture, and "Pudding Soft Serve" from Mie Prefecture. Soul foods from each region will also be featured, such as "Green Soft Serve" from Wakayama Prefecture and "Shirokuma" from Kagoshima Prefecture.

The name "Babahera Ice Cream" comes from the fact that each piece of ice cream is served with a spatula. On February 14th, a vendor will be demonstrating the sale.
On February 14th, a live demonstration will be held for the "Babahera Ice Cream," a specialty of Kodama Reika in Akita Prefecture. This will be a rare opportunity to see up close how the sellers use their special spatulas to arrange the ice cream into thin, petal-like layers, allowing you to enjoy the unique texture of freshly-made ice cream. This will be available only for one day, and only at the eat-in area of the venue.
The venue will also have an eat-in space where you can enjoy "winter ice cream" with hot coffee or tea. In addition to ice cream, other goods will also be on sale, such as Kai's books, original design cooler bags, postcards, and capsule toys.
Admission is free. Some products are limited in quantity and will end when sold out. Because it's a cold season, we offer the enjoyment of comparing ice creams from all over Japan in a warm room.
