"Hand Saw Press Spring ZINE Festival 2026" will be held from May 2nd to May 6th at "8/COURT" and "8/CUBE" on the 8th floor Shibuya Hikarie.

This event, now in its fifth year, is a ZINE (self-published zine) festival organized by the risograph studio "Hand Saw Press" (17-3 Denenchofu Honcho, Ota-ku). Beyond simply selling ZINEs, it aims to provide a platform for interaction between visitors and ZINE creators (exhibitors) through exhibitions, workshops, and talk events.

This year's theme is "games." The venue will feature a "game room" that anyone can freely participate in, where visitors can interact with each other while playing through a variety of content such as zines, card games, board games, and fortune-telling.

The main event space, "8/COURT," will host a ZINE market featuring a total of 110 participating groups. Up to 34 groups will set up stalls each day, with vendors rotating throughout the event. Beer and other drinks will also be sold at the venue, and there will be spaces for resting and talk events.

The gallery space "8/CUBE 1" will host exhibitions and markets featuring guest artists from Hong Kong, Taipei, New York, and Berlin. Participating organizations such as "ZINE COOP," "BANFF," "We make it," and "TXTbooks" will showcase the zine culture of each city.

The adjacent gallery space, "8/CUBE 2," will be opened as a game room, offering a space for game experiences and game creation using zines. A pixel-art style venue will appear, recreating the spatial design of the Hong Kong zine event "ZINE YO!FEST."

Furthermore, the gallery space "8/CUBE 3" will host daily workshops using risograph printing machines. Participants can print their creations on the spot and take them home, and there will also be an archive exhibition of risograph works by the Berlin studio "We make it".

The event is expected to feature numerous zine creators, publishers, and artists from both Japan and abroad, allowing visitors to experience diverse forms of expression through purchasing works and interacting with creators.
