Fight climate change through food! Let's create the future from our dining tables!

The food we eat every day without even thinking about it, but did you know that it not only affects our health, but also the health of the planet?

Our food is provided by the food system, which has a significant impact on the global environment. In fact, one-third of total greenhouse gas emissions are emitted during the food production process. Unfortunately, this reality is not well recognized in Japan. However, many countries around the world are confronting climate change through our food.
One approach to addressing this issue is the "Planetary Health Diet," which aims to protect human health while being environmentally friendly.

This CIRTY WORKSHOP will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about the impact that food has on our future and the planet, and to find concrete actions to take.

The guest speaker will be Yuko Teshima, who is active in spreading awareness of the Planetary Health Diet in Japan. She translated the book that is the theme of this event, "Changing the Earth from the Dining Table: The Food System that Connects You to the Future."

| About the instructor

Yuko Teshima
Born in Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture. Registered dietitian. After working in a hospital and in Indonesia as a member of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers, she is currently working on nutrition improvement projects in Asia and Africa at Sanyu Consultants Co., Ltd. In 2022, she translated and published "Changing the Earth from the Table" (Nihon Hyoronsha), and has been promoting the Planetary Health Diet through lectures, workshops, and reading groups at universities and companies.

CIRTY is a facility where you can easily experience the circular economy.

*If you are shopping at BIOSK, please bring a container (Tupperware, Ziploc, etc.) (BIOSK's last order is at 18:30)

*We will be collecting unwanted items such as clothing, fashion accessories, and hobby supplies at the PASSTO machine set up at CIRTY CAFE, so please bring them with you on the day (please see the link below for details).
