To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, a dialogue between leading cultural figures from both countries, "Korea-Japan Cultural Dialogue," will be held on September 24th at "COURT" on the 8th floor Shibuya Hikarie.
Since the normalization of diplomatic relations in 1965, exchanges between Japan and South Korea have deepened, and citizen-level travel and cultural ties have expanded significantly in recent years. This event was planned with this background in mind, with the aim of further creating "connections between people through culture."
The theme of this event is "Understanding the potential for cross-border Japanese and Korean creation through manga and webtoons." The talk event will cover topics such as "The differences and similarities between manga and webtoons," "The Japanese and Korean comic world from a cultural and social perspective," and "The future of manga x webtoons." Guests include Park In-ha, chairman of the Seoul Webtoon Academy; Takuya Oroku, executive CXO of Number Nine; and Owara Sumito, manga artist known for "Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!"
Admission is free. Advance registration required.
