"Tokyo Night Market" to be held at Yoyogi Park: Music and food available until 10 PM
An outdoor event based on the concept of "Tokyo x Asian Night Market"
2026-05-11
The "Tokyo Night Market," an outdoor event based on the concept of "Tokyo x Asian Night Market," will be held from May 20th to 24th at the zelkova tree-lined avenue in Yoyogi Park. The event is organized by the Tokyo Night Market Executive Committee.
This event, which is implemented using a "Nighttime Tourism Promotion Grant" from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Tourism Foundation, started in 2023. It has developed as a "night festival" that fuses night market culture from various parts of Asia with the street culture of Shibuya, Tokyo. From 2024, it will be held twice a year, and in 2025, it will expand in scale with the addition of spin-off events. The cumulative number of visitors, including foreign tourists, is expected to exceed 600,000. In 2026, it is scheduled to be held throughout the spring, summer, and autumn seasons in May, July, and October.

Its most distinctive feature is that it's a nighttime event that can be enjoyed until 10 PM. It's popular as a "nighttime playground" where people can stop by after work or enjoy themselves after dinner or shopping. The venue features a variety of content, including food and drink booths offering international cuisine, live stages, DJ booths, and street performances.

The live stage will feature performances by Minami Kojo, Charan-Po-Rantan, Shingo Maekawa, Yurumerumo!, Seppuku Pistols, and others. Clubs and bars from the Shibuya area will also participate in the DJ booth, adding to the excitement of the nighttime venue. After parties are planned at various clubs such as "1985" and "Dogenzaka Church" from 10pm onwards.

The venue will feature numerous food and beverage vendors, including "Udagawa Cafe," "Sanriku Beer," and "Nanashi Ramen," as well as shops selling vintage clothing, miscellaneous goods, and art. This year will also see the debut of an installation by artist Hajime Kinoko, known for his works using rope. His work will express the ancient Japanese technique of "shibari" (binding) as contemporary art.
