Participatory art exhibition "Everyone's Garden" at Shibuya Hikarie: Creating a "space for dialogue" through clay.

Visitors can freely participate in the creation process within the same space.

An exhibition titled "Everyone's Garden" by artist and sculptor Takumi Hirayama will be held at "8/COURT," an event space on the 8th floor of Shibuya Hikarie, from May 16th to 23rd. The exhibition is organized by the art platform "ArtBrikka."

The venue will exhibit objects and installation works made from ceramics and clay. The exhibition views the streets of Shibuya as "a mysterious 'garden' where demolition and rebuilding are constantly taking place, and where people continue to change as they consume," and develops a space themed around "traces of memories and forms that cannot be dismantled."

Hirayama was born in Tokyo in 1994. After graduating from the Department of Sculpture at Tokyo Zokei University, she completed her postgraduate studies at the Department of Fine Arts Education, Tokyo University of the Arts. She continues to create works using ceramics and clay, focusing on the themes of "differences" and "domains" that exist between oneself and others. Her work is characterized by a "project-based" style of expression that includes the creative process and interactions with others, and she explores the possibilities of communication that transcends language.

During the exhibition period, when the artist is present, there will be interactive workshops that visitors can freely participate in. In parallel with Hirayama's clay creation performance, visitors can freely participate in the creation process in the same space. Rather than competing on the level of completion or technique, the aim is to share the experience of "being present in that space," and the venue will also feature board games created by the artist. The exhibition space will gradually change not only through viewing, but also through play, conversation, and staying there.

ArtBrikka, the organizer, is an art platform that aims to "spread art as an experience that can be naturally encountered in everyday life." Through exhibition planning, experiential programs, and the creation of opportunities for interaction, they are engaged in activities that connect artists with society.
