An exhibition of original artwork by manga artist Hiroyuki Ohashi, often called a "solitary genius manga artist," titled "Hiroyuki Ohashi's Manga Exhibition: Original Drawings and Easy Single-Panel Print Workshop," will begin on May 23rd at the "Hobonichi Sunday" gallery space on the 8th floor of Shibuya PARCO. The exhibition is organized by Hobonichi.

Ohashi was born in Aichi Prefecture in 1980. She began her career by self-publishing and gained attention with works such as "Ongaku" (Music), "Zokki" (Zokki), and "City Lights." "Ongaku" was adapted into an animated film in 2020, and "Zokki" into a live-action film in 2021, bringing renewed attention to the original works.

Past events

This exhibition will feature over 100 original drawings, primarily from Ohashi's representative works "Ongaku" (Music), "Zokki" (Zokki), and "City Lights." In particular, "Ongaku" will have so many original drawings on display that visitors can follow the story from the prologue to the end, creating an experience akin to "reading a manga through its original artwork." The exhibition is designed to allow visitors to appreciate up close the dynamic style that is characteristic of Ohashi, who rarely does preliminary sketches.

The venue will also feature a "One-Panel Easy Printing Workshop." Visitors can choose their favorite scene from approximately 90 different manga panels and have it printed on T-shirts or tote bags on the spot. Plain white T-shirts and tote bags will be sold at the venue, and printing on items brought in by visitors will also be available. Transfer sheets that can be applied with a household iron will also be sold. Furthermore, there will be a custom-made T-shirt project where customers can specify their favorite panel. The finished product will be signed by Ohashi and sold as a one-of-a-kind original T-shirt. The price is 6,600 yen.

All of Ohashi's works are available in the "Ohashi Hiroyuki Bookstore" section.

In addition, a "Hiroyuki Ohashi Bookstore" corner will be set up, featuring a collection of Ohashi's books. This will include not only his manga works but also essay collections for which he created the cover illustrations.

The event will be held from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM until June 21st.
