In this era of declining population, who will support the future of our communities?

It's not just about increasing the number of migrants or tourists. Across Japan, a new approach to regional management is being explored that involves creating the future of a region together with "related populations"—people who are continuously involved with the area.

The setting for this story is Tambayama Village in Yamanashi Prefecture, a village with a population of approximately 500 people.
Currently, Tanbayama Village is embarking on new challenges to nurture the community together with its people who have a connection to it, including "Adult Regional Study Abroad Programs" and the "Tanbayama Village Official Ambassador System."

This event will feature a dialogue between Yoshito Kinoshita, who has been at the forefront of local administration for over 30 years and currently serves as the mayor of Tambayama Village, and Tatsuya Aoyama, who is working on the practical application of community engagement management in various parts of Japan.

"What kind of future can a village with a population of only 500 people envision for itself?"
Using the initiatives in Tambayama Village as a case study, we will think together with the participants about the future of the region, new forms of regional management, and co-creation with people who have a connection to the area.
