"FOOTBALL PARK -SHIBUYA 2026-," a participatory event where you can enjoy soccer, freestyle football, and more, will be held on November 23rd at the Keyaki Namiki Plaza in Yoyogi Park.

This event is co-organized by Shibuya Ward, Shibuya Future Design Association, and the FOOTBALL PARK SHIBUYA 2026 Executive Committee. With the theme of "Play and conquer with just one ball," it provides a place for people of all ages and experience levels to enjoy football. Following last year's event, the venue, a row of zelkova trees, will be set up with five temporary soccer fields and a special stage for the day only, offering a variety of competitions and experiential programs.

The venue will host events such as "freestyle football," where players use techniques like juggling to control the ball freely; "3x3 football," a 3-on-3 game without a goalkeeper; and "parkour tag," a 1-on-1 game of tag using obstacles.

The event will feature freestyle football, including "OPEN BATTLE," where top players compete one-on-one, and showcases where performers showcase their skills to music. There will also be preliminary rounds for a competition for players under 15, and a new contest, "National Lifting Championship vol.0," which will test lifting skills. Beginner-friendly one-point lessons and open-participation trial programs will also be available.

"3x3 FOOTBALL" will be played with unique rules, where each game is 3 minutes long and the first team to score 2 points wins. In the under-8 and under-10 categories, teams that win qualifying rounds in Tokyo, Fukushima, Shizuoka, Aichi, Saitama, Kumamoto, and other prefectures will compete in the national tournament. In addition, there will be tournaments for under-12, women, and general participants, with prize money of up to 400,000 yen. There will also be games where you can form an impromptu team on the spot and participate.

Returning after last year's success, "Parkour Tag" is a competition where participants combine running, jumping, and climbing over obstacles to compete in 20 seconds. A free trial session will be held with no prior registration required.

On the day of the event, Toshi from the comedy duo "Taka and Toshi," who is also one of the organizers, will serve as the main MC. Guests will include former Japan national football team players Daisuke Matsui, Tadanari Lee, Ryota Moriwaki, Koji Morisaki, and Shohei Abe, as well as former Japan women's national football team players Aya Samejima and Ayumi Kaihori. Former Japan national futsal team players and freestyle footballers will also participate, interacting with attendees and livening up the competition. There will also be a merchandise booth by Soccer Shop KAMO at the venue.

The organizers aim to create a place where anyone can easily enjoy playing with a ball, against the backdrop of social issues such as declining participation in sports and restrictions on playing ball in parks. Starting in 2026, they will also be running "FOOTBALL PARK @BE STAGE," a regular football activity held every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm at "BE STAGE" in Yoyogi Park. They are working to create a community where people can enjoy playing with balls on a regular basis, not just as an annual event.

On the same day, the street dance event "Shibuya StreetDance Week 2026" is also scheduled to be held around the Yoyogi Park Outdoor Stage, showcasing Shibuya's street culture through football and dance.

The event will be held from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Some competitions require pre-registration.
