At "Shibuya Second Stage," PLANETS and Tokyu Corporation are jointly hosting a variety of talk shows at Shibuya Hikarie 8/COURT, with the aim of spreading new culture from Shibuya.

The theme of this event is "Regional revitalization and urban development."

While there have been calls for "regional revitalization" since the 2010s, what kind of reconstruction plan is needed in today's world where the division between urban areas and rural areas has continued to accelerate? Moving to rural areas as a "work as life" opportunity, branding rural areas by applying urban advertising strategies, and measures to combat the declining birthrate and aging population through regional medical care... We will invite players with various types of projects in rural areas to talk about regional revitalization in the 2020s.

▼About "Hikarie +PLANETS Shibuya Second Stage"
This project is run jointly by Tokyu Corporation, Shibuya Hikarie, and PLANETS (organized by Uno Tsunehiro). It all started with a presentation by critic Uno Tsunehiro at TEDxTokyo, held at Shibuya Hikarie in 2013. Tokyu wants more creative people and activities to gather in Shibuya, which is being reborn in preparation for 2020, while Uno Tsunehiro asks, "Will culture be born in the city of Tokyo after the Internet?" This seemingly contradictory collaboration has developed into the hypothesis that "if Shibuya is positioned as a new, real circuit for young people with a post-Internet sensibility, culture will be born from there." It is precisely because Shibuya is a place that creative people and activities can gather and create updated content by sending out a new, unprecedented cultural message. This project aims to form a new cultural community by sending out information from Shibuya, and considers the "future Shibuya" that continues to evolve even after 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic.
