Learn about future urban development from the forefront of urban space.

This study group will explore new ways to bring people together in urban spaces and get to the forefront of content development. We will invite architect and pop urbanism researcher Wataru Nakamura as guest and learn about innovative examples from around the world, such as "container stalls," "food trucks," and "shared bookstores."

◉Wataru Nakamura
Architect / Doctor of Architecture / CEO of MOSAIC DESIGN Inc.

Born in Tokyo in 1978. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, College of Science and Technology, Nihon University (Takamiya Shinsuke Lab) in 2002, and completed the Master's course at Waseda University Graduate School (Furuya Masaaki Lab) in 2005. Left the university in 2008 with sufficient credits for the doctoral program, and after working as an assistant and contract researcher, was an assistant professor at the Kuma Kengo Lab of the University of Tokyo Graduate School from 2010 to 2016. In 2011, he obtained his PhD in Architecture for his research on street food stalls in Southeast Asia. In the same year, he founded the architectural design firm MOSAIC DESIGN. He has served as a part-time lecturer at Meiji University I-AUD, Waseda University, Nihon University, and other institutions. He is involved in a variety of projects, large and small, from food stalls to urban design, for stores, homes, hotels, commercial facilities, markets, and more, with the keyword "Let's do something fun!"

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1978. Graduated from Tama Art University. Founded &Co. in 2016. Project producer involved in brand development, organizational development, and social change. Successfully mobilized 30,000 people at Asia's largest work style festival, "Tokyo Work Design Week". Produced Kamakura collective office "Hojo SANCI", Shibuya Ward entrepreneur training institute "Shibuya Startup University (SSU)", and shared bookstore "Shibuya ◯◯ Bookstore". Part-time lecturer at Hosei University. His books include "Our Future Work Style" (Hayakawa Publishing) and "Self-Introduction 2.0" (KADOKAWA).
