"China Festival" at Yoyogi Park: Stage performances by visiting artists and booths serving the four major cuisines

"Panda House" and "Japan-China Slipper Table Tennis Tournament"

The China Festival 2024, a festival of Japan-China cultural exchange, will be held at Yoyogi Park Event Square on September 7th and 8th, 2024.

The festival, which began in 2017, is being promoted as a platform for exchange between Japan and China. Over 100,000 visitors attend every year, bringing together companies, restaurants, retailers, and artists from both countries, and contributing to mutual understanding and the creation of new networks through cultural exchange.

The venue will consist of a main stage, food and drink booths, and merchandise. On the main stage, popular Chinese artists such as singer Alan, known for the theme song of the 2009 movie "Red Cliff," and Chinese pop singer Guo Feng will appear. In addition, the Chinese national style orchestra "Ziduoqinshe," which wears traditional Chinese costumes and plays traditional music from the perspective of modern young people, will perform on stage. They have more than 3 million followers on their SNS accounts and boast a total of 300 million views of their videos worldwide. In addition, the Shandong Acrobatic Troupe and erhu players Weiwei Wu and Kiriko, who are active in Japan, will also perform to liven up the two-day event.

The food booths will feature a diverse and fascinating food culture, including the "Four Great Cuisines" from Beijing, Sichuan, Shanghai, and Fujian. Each booth will offer the taste of China's 4,000 years of history, including Peking duck (Beijing), spicy stew (Sichuan), scorched shrimp (Fujian), and Xiaolongbao (Shanghai). In addition, Chinese alcohol culture will also be introduced, including "Chinese famous liquors" such as Fenjiu, a brand of baijiu, China's national liquor.

Other activities that can be enjoyed by everyone, from children to adults, include the "Panda House," which is popular among children, and the "Japan-China Slipper Table Tennis Tournament," where slippers are used instead of regular rackets.

Why not spend these two days completely immersed in China, experiencing the charms of China, including food and entertainment?
