NIPPON UMAMI TOURISM Tasty design that returns to the local culture and vegetation

LONG LIFE DESIGN 3|d47 MUSEUM 34th Exhibition

Since its opening in 2012, d47 MUSEUM has introduced the individuality of each of the 47 prefectures under a variety of themes, from traditional crafts to creations by the younger generation, tourism, and food culture. The "LONG LIFE DESIGN" exhibition is a series of exhibitions that consider future design, with the first one being "Healthy Design" in 2018 and the second "Prayer Design" in 2020. This third exhibition will use "umami" as a keyword to consider LONG LIFE DESIGN in food through the local cuisine of each of the 47 prefectures and activities to convey that culture.

"UMAMI," which originated in Japan and has now become a global word, does not just refer to the delicious taste, but is also something that should be discussed including the background to its creation. This is a special exhibition that allows you to experience the food landscape of various regions through 47 "umami" that are connected to each region's climate and have been passed down as wisdom for survival in that region.
