"Dodon to Germany!!" is a legendary talk event where we enjoy, poke fun at, and consider the real and deep side of Germany.
The memorable 10th event will be held on October 3rd, German Unity Day!

The Japan-Germany Society (almost 114 years old), which is usually quietly working on Japanese-German exchanges in a corner of the German area,
"Traveler of Favorites" Taichi Nobui,
"A storm of real knowledge" Malai Menthlain,
Daisuke Kamishima, who has been on a 400-game losing streak against his wife (Malai), and his Dodon Musketeers! gathered in Kal Kal for the first time in two years.
A presentation focused on Germany with the spirit of a middle schooler and intelligence (and love)!

Talking in Shibuya, talking by Germans, and talking from an angle that probably no one else has ever talked about!
This week's dangerous theme is (I feel like I'm pushing a certain public broadcasting station with all my might, but maybe it's just my imagination...)

[Theme (planned)]
The Solitary Gourmet: Gourmet? No, Germanic! / Taichi Noby
Currently appearing on NHK Radio German (real name). In fact, the (secret?) theme of the radio show "Neta Deutschland" was "Differences in German Culture from East to West, North to South"! So, this time, as it is a pen name, I will be introducing "Gourmet Gourmet from the 'Isolated' Regions? No, Germanic!", introducing "Isolated (German) Gourmet from all over Germany, in other words, foods that you can only find in Germany. It is sure to be of no use to you on your trip to Germany. And, I hope that no one will ever say that German food is bad again!

"Intermediate" Realistic Consideration of Modern German Politics and Society - We've already covered everything for beginners! / Marei Mentlein & Daisuke Kamishima
In reality, the German hobby industry cannot be indifferent to the political instability in Europe and around the world, symbolized by the rise of the far right. We do talk about serious topics from time to time. That said, we always end up going off topic and getting into trouble! We are interviewed by various media outlets about the current state of German society and politics, such as "What do you think of the AfD?", but it's frustrating that we are always given the same "beginner-level" explanations over and over again. So, in the protective field of the Japan-Germany Association, we remove the limiter and speak our true views. No open flames, don't mix, it's dangerous!
And as a bonus content, we will introduce "things that Germans are forever recommending." Stay tuned!

Furthermore, the "Who's Got to Answer? Germania Quiz" will also be back, with a theme of "Luck? Knowledge? Comedy? What's that? I don't know!"
We also plan to have limited themed menus and German beer on the day, so please look forward to it!
On Friday, October 3rd, let's dive into the German swamp together in Shibuya!
Please help spread the word. Hashtag → #DodonGermany

[Dodon Three Musketeers]

◎Taichi Noby
He is a writer on German products and cultural history. His works include "Laugh! The German Democratic Republic (DDR)" (Kyoiku Hyoronsha) and "A German Naming Dictionary for Creators" (Hobby Japan), as well as "The Second Reich" volumes 1 and 2 (Publib) and the "Fake Germany" series (Shakai Hyoronsha), which deal with the history of German product culture. Under his real name (Nobuhiro Yanagihara, a professor at a women's university in Tokyo), he appears on and writes texts for the "Funny Germany" segment of NHK Radio's "Everyday German." He is also the editor-in-chief of "A Very Brief History of Germany" (supervised translation, Tokyo Shoseki), and is the editor-in-chief of the blunt-instrument book "The German Cultural Encyclopedia" (2021).

◎Marei Mentlein
Translator, interpreter, and essayist. Originally from Kiel, a naval port city in the far north of Germany famous for its U-boat base. After studying abroad twice, he has lived in Japan since 2008. He works as a producer for German public broadcasting, and is also busy disseminating information as a television commentator and online. His thorough discussions with book critic Sugie Matsuko on all the nominees for the Akutagawa Prize and Naoki Prize, and his predictions for the winners, are quietly said to be "essential industry insights." He is the co-author of "Godzilla vs. the Self-Defense Forces: The 'War' of Anime," and the sole author of "Redefining the Japanese Language." Despite being a dog person, for some reason he also keeps a cat.

◎Daisuke Kamishima
Marai Mentlein's husband. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the Third Reich and currently works underground as a researcher for literature on the subject. Incidentally, he only speaks Japanese with his wife, but he has never been able to win an argument with her, having been undefeated in 400 fights. He's like the opposite of Rickson Gracie. He is known for his shocking and villainous behavior, often based on pro wrestling, such as suddenly barging in on a conversation between Marai and someone and performing a microphone performance. All of humanity is hoping that he will grow up quickly!

*Dress code and belongings
There is absolutely no problem with wearing German-style costumes. In fact, it is recommended! Cosplay of manga and anime characters with German motifs is also OK. Military uniforms are not prohibited in principle.
however!
Since this is a short trip to Germany, everyone inside the venue must follow German law. If you have any symbols on your uniform or other clothing that are prohibited in Germany, you will need to remove them or attach a prohibited sticker that we will provide to you before entering. (Staff at the reception will inspect your symbols to see if they are subject to legal action in Germany.)
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation so that we can all have a fun time in Germany.
