Tokyu invites 800 groups of junior and senior high school students to Shibuya for free to experience authentic musicals

This year's show is "Broadway Christmas Wonderland"

Tokyu Group will be holding the "10th Tokyu Musical Program," which provides a high-quality cultural experience for junior and senior high school students who will be the future of the future, and will be inviting 800 pairs of junior and senior high school students and their companions (1,600 people) to a special performance starting at noon on Sunday, December 14th, free of charge. The venue will be Tokyu Theatre Orb, a theater dedicated to musicals on the 11th floor of Shibuya Hikarie.

For the Tokyu Group, which opened the Tokyu Kaikan (Toyoko Theater) and Tokyu Bunka Kaikan in the 1950s and has been responsible for spreading culture in Shibuya, this program, which began in 2012, is one of the efforts to carry on that DNA. The program aims to allow junior and senior high school students, who will be the leaders of the next generation, to experience the charm of musicals, a comprehensive art form that combines singing, acting, dance, art, costumes, and more. Up until now, the program has presented popular Broadway productions such as "Sister Act," bringing the power and excitement of live theater to many junior and senior high school students.

This year's program is "Broadway Christmas Wonderland," a beloved winter staple in Shibuya since its premiere in 2016. It's a spectacular show that combines a glamorous stage performance by singers and dancers visiting from the United States with creative direction by theme park show creator Kahori Kanaya. The fantastical atmosphere created by the skating show and famous Christmas carols envelops the entire theater, making it a popular program every Christmas season.

The application period is from Friday, October 17th to Sunday, November 16th. Applications will be accepted through a dedicated form on the Tokyu Group official website. Applications are open to pairs of one junior high or high school student and one accompanying person (both junior high school students or older) as of the day of the event. Invitations will be sent to winners by Monday, December 1st.
