"Sky Bon Odori" at Shibuya Sky: Dancers form a circle and dance 229 meters above Shibuya.
An urban autumn festival themed around "dreams"
2026-08-17
On September 1st, the "Tenku Yume Matsuri" (Sky Dream Festival), an urban autumn festival themed around the "dreams" of people who gather in Shibuya, will begin at "SHIBUYA SKY," an observation facility in SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE SQUARE.
The "Sky Dream Festival" was first held last year, with over 30,000 people participating in the wish-writing project held on the 46th-floor indoor observation corridor "SKY GALLERY". This year, from September 1st to 27th, the "Sky Dream Corridor" will be held on the same floor. Visitors will write their dreams and wishes on strips of paper and display them alongside sky-blue lanterns. The lanterns will change color in conjunction with the lighting effects, decorating the corridor, and after the event, the collected strips of paper will be burned at Konno Hachimangu Shrine, the guardian shrine of SHIBUYA SKY, sending the wishes to the sky.

The main event, "Sky Bon Odori," will be held on September 5th and 12th at "SKY STAGE," a rooftop observation space approximately 229 meters above ground. Positioned as an event where "the people who gather, work, and live in Shibuya are the main characters," it will send their dreams and aspirations to the sky through dance.

At the venue, "Sukeroku Taiko," which was established in 1968 as Japan's first professional taiko drumming group, will perform, and "Yoake no Chindon-ya" will parade through the streets playing drums and wind instruments, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The event is scheduled to take place from 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM on both days. With the Shibuya cityscape transitioning from dusk to night below, Shibuya workers and visitors will form a circle and dance to the original Bon Odori dance, "Shibuya Scramble Ondo." Participation is possible with a SHIBUYA SKY admission ticket for the day of the event or an annual passport, "SHIBUYA SKY PASSPORT." The event will be canceled in case of bad weather.
During the event, festival-themed food and goods will also be available. The Paradise Lounge on the 46th floor will be selling "Plump Shrimp Dumplings" (980 yen) and "Banzai Cider" (600 yen), while "THE ROOF SHIBUYA SKY" on the rooftop will be selling lychee and La France pear flavored ramune drinks (800 yen). The shops on the 46th floor will also be selling limited quantities of "SHIBUYA SKY Original Happi Coats" and "Lantern Magnets" (990 yen) in collaboration with "Hachifuru SHIBUYA meets AKITA," a shop themed around Hachiko.
The "Tenku Yume Matsuri" (Sky Dream Festival) runs until September 27th. The "Tenku Bon Odori" (Sky Bon Dance) is only held on September 5th and 12th.
