Speakers

Kensuke Amou
Animoca Brands Japan
Vice President and COO
Joined Recruit Co., Ltd. in 2007. After gaining experience in the development of multiple new businesses, he joined Coincheck Co., Ltd. in 2018. He is mainly responsible for new business development, new cryptocurrency transactions, and public relations with industry groups. Since 2020, as an executive officer, he has created new businesses such as the first NFT marketplace among Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges and Japan's first IEO. In 2021, he became the representative director of Coincheck Technologies, and in June 2022, he became the executive officer of Coincheck. As the business manager in the Web3 area, he leads the NFT business and metaverse business. Under the partnership between the company and Animoca Brands in 2020, he is also involved in the Japanese expansion of "The Sandbox" and "Otherside". He currently serves as an advisor to the Japan Crypto Asset Business Association (JCBA), Shibuya Ward's startup ecosystem, web3 project "OASIS," and LIFULL Co., Ltd. His books include "NFT Textbook" and "Non-Fungible Me" (published by Asahi Shimbun Publications).

Mr. Naoki Matsuo

After working as an AE at an advertising agency, he moved to Singapore in 2014. While working in sales for a local media, he studied web development technology at Singapore Polytechnic. After returning to Japan in 2017, he joined BEENOS Inc. as an engineer. In parallel with his engineering work, he was in charge of new business planning within the company and was involved in the launch of several new businesses. In 2021, he was seconded to a Web3 company in which he invested, and entered the Web3 industry, developing NFTs related to music, manga, and anime content. In 2024, he joined Animoca Brands Japan and, as head of IP-related business, was responsible for launching the company's original NFT "MetaChara" and investing in anime production committees.

Masafumi Masuda
Partner, Mori Hamada & Matsumoto Law Office
Specially Appointed Professor, Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of Law
Attorney (New York, Japan). Graduated from Stanford Law School. Switched from science to lawyer, he is well versed in IT legal affairs in general. He is a full-time specialist at the Financial Services Agency, where he is responsible for blockchain-related legal reforms. In the fields of AI, web3, and metaverse, he is involved in many conferences, including government agencies. He has participated in numerous policy proposals and self-regulations as an advisor to the Japan Online Game Association (JOGA), the Blockchain Promotion Council (BCCC), the Japan Crypto Asset Business Association (JCBA) NFT Division Legal Advisor and Blockchain Game Division Advisor, and a member of the Liberal Democratic Party web3PT Working Group. As a professor at the Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of Law, he holds lectures on "Web3, Metaverse, and Law." He has written many books, including "New NFT Textbook," "Learn from Scratch: An Introduction to Generative AI Law," "Ask Professor Masuda Masashi About Web3, NFT, and the Metaverse: What You Can't Ask Now," "Understand NFT Business in Manga," and "New App Legal Handbook."
