To commemorate the release of the "Tech Direction Handbook," which was planned and written by volunteer members of the Technical Directors Association (TDA) under the theme of "Let's create a textbook on technical direction!", we will be holding a talk session centered around the co-authors.

The speakers will be the four co-authors and TDA organizers (Ryusuke Izumida, Yusuke Goto, Yasuhiro Ogino, and Toyoji Morioka), as well as guests Ryo Miyagawa (monopo Tokyo) and Chiaki Shimizu (Representative Director of Good Project Association). Enjoy an in-depth talk on technical direction that could not be included in the handbook.

Ryusuke Izumida
Representative of Manufacture Co., Ltd.
Tech Director / Engineer / Tech Project Manager
After gaining experience in firmware development at a major manufacturer's affiliated company, he moved to the advertising production industry in 2013 and engaged in experiential content production. In 2021, he founded Manufacture Co., Ltd., where he is responsible for development and project management as a "perfect consultant" for experiential content and prototype production.

Yusuke Goto
Tech Director / Engineer
After graduating from a technical college, he worked for a heavy electrical equipment manufacturer before majoring in design at Köln International School of Design. He returned to Japan after working in Germany and Malaysia. He worked at One to Ten Inc. and Cerevo before going independent. He is skilled in gadget design, implementing embedded software, and technical direction of experiential exhibits, making use of his background in electrical engineering and design. Recently, he has been drawing pictures of people sleeping.

Yasuhiro Ogino
Technical Director, Connell Co., Ltd.
Intellectual Property Hunter Co., Ltd.
Born in 1985, raised in Amsterdam. After working as a freelance engineer, he co-founded the creative collective Konel. As technical director, he is involved in the development and direction of a wide range of projects, including services, installations, and media art. He also works as an intellectual property hunter, collecting impactful and applicable technologies and pursuing new methods to materialize delusions. Recent projects he has been involved in include the "Brainwave Purchase Center" and "Flowers that Grow with Emotions."

Toyoshi Morioka
Technical Director, Bassdrum Corporation
Founder of the Technical Directors Association
Completed his doctoral studies at Tokyo Polytechnic University. Earned a Master's in Engineering. After working at a manufacturer, he joined One to Ten Design where he was involved in the development of IoT devices, smartphone app SDKs, and installations. In 2015, he founded One to Ten Drive, a company specializing in prototyping, and as CTO, he works with manufacturers to develop new products and entertainment using technology. In 2020, he went independent and joined BASSDRUM. He also serves as a part-time lecturer at Osaka University of Arts.

Chiaki Shimizu

Creative Project Manager / Producer
A production producer/PM with a strong focus on digital and visual expression. After gaining experience at a commercial production company, an advertising agency, and a creative agency, he became independent in 2021. He produces projects in a wide range of fields, including advertising, video, web, events, and entertainment.
Based on his own experience, he co-founded the Good Project Association, a general incorporated association, in order to consider and spread the idea of "better project implementation and promotion (Project Creation)," and plans to begin full-scale activities in 2025.

Ryo Miyakawa

Creative Director / Engineer
With a background as an engineer, he is in charge of a wide range of work, from planning communication that connects brands with users, to crafting and spreading it to the world. He likes projects that stimulate insights and hack everyday items.
