We will be holding a community event for "imkp Lab.", a science fiction community that creates new science fiction thinking as a testing ground for discussing cross-disciplinary and innovative futures.
At "imkp Lab.", we explore collaborations that transcend the boundaries of not only novelists but also artists, creators, researchers, and business people, as well as perspectives and mindsets for thinking about the future.

Let's become creators together and create another story that could possibly happen, while learning about the "SF prototyping" method, which is currently attracting attention as a way to create and share visions of the future.

The theme of the 5th episode is "SF x Living"
Living may be a re-editing of living

Where and how will we "live"?
From spaces enclosed by walls and a roof to virtual nests made up of data, to architecture that breathes, to homes that connect with our emotions—the contours of what it means to live are quietly but surely changing.

"What if a house had memories?"
"What if the layout of your home changed depending on the weather or your state of mind?"
"What if the act of 'living' itself became a collective rather than an individual act?"

This month at imkp Lab., we will speculatively reexamine the everyday act of "living" and imagine how we will live in the future.
Through sci-fi prototyping and collective dialogue, let's re-examine the meaning of "living" and imagine new forms of life.

Rewriting the outdated future: SF prototyping

"SF prototyping" is a method that utilizes the concepts, worldviews, and storytelling of science fiction (SF) to boost ideas, lead to innovative visions, and conceive and prototype possible futures. Utilizing the power of stories, it is gaining attention as a method for discussing and sharing visions of the future with others, finding hints for future value creation, and exploring how to utilize cutting-edge technology.

imkp Lab. is a cross-disciplinary sci-fi community that creates new sci-fi thinking.
We have launched the interdisciplinary sci-fi community "imkp Lab." as a place where creators from various fields can come together, with a focus on sci-fi.

We aim to foster a culture of innovation by exploring science fiction stories that imagine and create inspiring worldviews, and through the new perspectives that arise from them and prototyping that accelerates inspiration.

Combining imagination, memory, knowledge, and possibility,
We imagine a new future that is not an extension of the past or present, and then work backwards from there to think about "what we should do now" -- imkp Lab. is a co-creation space for putting this kind of future thinking into practice.

In this community, we will learn about the currently popular science fiction concepts, explore their applications in creative writing and business, and discuss the perspectives and mindsets needed to think about the future.
We plan to hold study sessions and meetup events inviting external guests.
