To commemorate the release of the film "Taroman: The Great Expo Explosion," an exhibition titled "Detarame! Taroman Expo" will be held at Hobonichi Sunday on the 8th floor of Shibuya PARCO from September 14th.

"TAROMAN" is a unique TV drama that was broadcast late at night on NHK Educational TV in 2022 and caused a stir among fans of special effects and art. Based on the words and works of Taro Okamoto, the drama is produced in a style that mimics "special effects hero shows of the 1970s." The battles between Taroman, who is not always a champion of justice, and the strange beasts, as well as their surreal and absurd interactions, captivated many viewers.

The director and screenwriter is filmmaker Ryo Fujii. He is one of the creators who has been creating playful projects by turning thoroughly thought-out "silly ideas" into works. In 2022, Fujii also surprised visitors with the "Big Lie Museum: 200 Million Years of Capsule Toy History Exhibition" at Shibuya PARCO's "Hobonichi Sunday," where all the exhibits were "lies."

The TV version consisted of short five-minute episodes, but this time it has been made into a feature film with a running time of 105 minutes, titled "Taroman: Expo Explosion." It was released nationwide on August 22nd. This exhibition commemorates the release of the film, and brings together Taroman and the strange beasts at the venue. In addition to displaying the props and costumes used in the actual filming, the exhibition will also introduce the "collection (settings)" of Sakanaction's Yamaguchi Ichiro, who appeared in the film as a "big Taroman fan."
