The "Sakura 'Hotto' Kotatsu @ Shibuya River" event began on February 13th at Shibuya River Street, a promenade along the Shibuya River. This annual event is held to coincide with the early-blooming Kawazu cherry blossoms, giving the feeling of an early arrival of spring.

The venue will be lined with kotatsu, a popular event, where you can warm yourself while admiring the cherry blossoms along the Shibuya River. Use is free, and you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks (cancelled in case of rain).

This year, the Shibusa Children's Fair will be held at the same time, aimed at elementary school students and younger, with activities such as Umaibo Fishing, Ring Toss, and Target Practice available. Participation is free with a parent or guardian. The festival will be held on the 13th, 14th, 20th, and 22nd from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on the 15th and 21st from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
On February 21st, Tokyu Line character Norurun and Kokugakuin University mascot Kokupyon will be visiting (2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm).

Additionally, from February 13th to 15th and 20th to 22nd, a mini market will be held where you can enjoy delicious food from Kobayashi City, Miyazaki Prefecture, and alcoholic beverages will be on sale, including hot wine (700 yen) from the winery "Kobayashi Ikoma Kogen Winery," shots of shochu (Suki Shochu, Yamajaku, Yamabi Musume = 600 yen each) from Kobayashi City Suki Brewery, and beer (400 yen). You can enjoy a kotatsu lunch under the blue sky in the daytime, and cherry blossom viewing drinks while enjoying the illuminated cherry blossoms in the evening, and experience a different atmosphere depending on the time of day.
In addition, the "Shibusan Photo Contest" will be held. The application period is from February 13th to March 1st. Take a photo of the Kawazu cherry blossoms along Shibuya River Street, follow the official SHIBUYA STREAM Instagram account, and post it with the hashtag "#ShibuyaRiverStreetKawazuCherryBlossoms2026." Excellent photos will receive prizes such as a pair of accommodation vouchers at SHIBUYA STREAM Hotel. The winners will be announced on March 9th.
Since this is a time of year when there are large temperature differences, it's important to take precautions against the cold when going out.
