The outdoor event "Vietnam Festival 2024," which brings together traditional Vietnamese performing arts, the latest music and food culture, will be held at Yoyogi Park Event Square on both Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd, 2024. The event is organized by the Vietnam Festival 2024 Executive Committee.

Past Events

Since its first event in 2008, it has been established as an annual event, conveying the fun and beauty of Vietnam to Japanese people, and promoting exchanges between Vietnamese people living in Vietnam and Japanese people, as well as between Japanese and Vietnamese companies, as the only official exchange event held overseas by the Vietnamese government. Aiming to further deepen exchanges between Japan and Vietnam after the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam last year, this year's event is expected to attract more than 180,000 visitors over the two days.

Live stage performance

The venue is made up of a main stage and food and drink and merchandise booths. On the main stage, Vietnamese artists such as PHƯƠNG LY, a top artist in the Vietnamese dance pop music scene, and BỨC TƯỜNG & PHẠM ANH KHOA, a legend in the Vietnamese music scene who has been leading the rock scene for many years, will perform. In addition, Japanese artists with ties to Vietnam, such as Kawashima Ai, Sunplaza Nakano-kun & Pappara Kawai, will perform and put on a hot live performance.

Enjoy authentic Vietnamese food

The food and drink booths will offer everything from classic foods such as pho, banh mi, banh xeo, bun bo hue, chae, cao lau, and bun cha to Vietnamese beer. Authentic Vietnamese flavors from a variety of restaurants will be on display. There will be around 120 booths, including ao dai and miscellaneous goods for sale, as well as booths for companies and organizations.

The water puppet show is a popular event every year

Another popular performance every year is the traditional art of water puppetry, which takes place on a stage on the water. The performance team this time is made up of talented staff including directors, scriptwriters, fine artists, modeling and stage artists, and sound and lighting engineers, and is highly regarded not only by various provinces in Vietnam but also at international theater festivals. A variety of programs are available on both days, allowing you to experience the charm of water puppetry.
