Creating the future of education on the island with related population: An evening to think about the relationship with education in the remote island of Ama Town
"Raising children in the community" education

Ama Town is a remote island in the Oki Islands of Shimane Prefecture with a population of about 2,300 people.
Ama Town continues to take on unique challenges such as the "Oki Islands Education Promotion Project," "Adult Island Study Abroad," and the "Ama Town Official Ambassador System."
Among these, the Ama Town Official Ambassador System is a system that allows people to get involved with the island and take part in new town development, regardless of whether they live there or not. Although there is a fee for membership, there are over 400 members, and it has become one of the pillars of local management.
In Ama Town (Dozen region), schools, local government, and local residents have worked together to promote education that "raises children in the community," including island study abroad programs, island parents, inquiry-based learning, and the Okinoshima Learning Center.
Now, in Ama Town's educational settings, learning that doesn't end within the school is slowly taking shape. There are more and more opportunities for people on and off the island to connect, and for adults, the local community, and related populations to get involved together.
This event will create an opportunity for Ama Town's education to be more open to society, not only with educational experts but also with people who are involved with Ama Town as related populations or who would like to be involved.
In the second part, we hope to have a chance to socialize over drinks and discuss with participants from Ama Town how they can actually get involved.
It's okay even if you don't have much knowledge about education or it's your first time.
We look forward to your participation!
Recommended for those who:
・Those who want to support education in Ama Town and other remote islands
・People who have been involved with Ama Town before or would like to be involved in the future
・People who are not involved in education but are exploring the possibility of becoming involved
・Those who want to connect their work and interests with education
・Those who want to know what they can do as an ambassador

----------
"What is the Ama Town Official Ambassador System?"
This system, which began in earnest in May 2024, aims to create a new town through experiencing the local "richness" that lives there, regardless of whether you live there or not. It aims to deepen the relationship between the local population and the island, as well as to increase awareness of Kaido Town and the number of new fans of Kaido Town.
Those appointed as Ama Town Official Ambassadors will be given an "Ama Town Official Ambassador Card," which uses Ama Town's digital business card, the "Prairie Card," and will use the card to promote Ama Town.
