"Thai Festival" to be held at Yoyogi Park; featuring a collaboration between Tatsuya Ishii and BNK48

The 26th Thai Festival Tokyo, an event showcasing the charms of Thai culture, food, and entertainment, will be held at Yoyogi Park Event Plaza for two days, May 9th and 10th.

Started in 2000 as the "Thai Food Festival," this event has grown into one of the largest international events in Thailand, attracting approximately 250,000 visitors. This year's theme is "Creative Life and Creative Heartbeat," showcasing the multifaceted charms of Thailand, including its content industries such as design, fashion, T-pop, movies, and dramas, as well as its traditional culture.

The venue will feature approximately 170 stalls, including booths selling Thai food, drinks, fruits, and miscellaneous goods, as well as exhibition booths from government agencies and companies. Visitors can experience Thai food culture and lifestyle with authentic dishes, ingredients, craft products, and fashion items on display.

The main stage will feature a diverse program including Thai dance and Muay Thai demonstrations, as well as live performances by popular artists. This year's MCs will be Kenji Shiratai, also known as "Mamuan," who is well-known in Thailand through his YouTube and influencer activities, and Rina Izuta, a former AKB48 member and general manager of BNK48 and CGM48.

More than 25 top Thai artists and actors will be coming to Japan to liven up the venue. In particular, the highlight of the first day, Saturday the 9th, will be the collaboration between Tatsuya Ishii and popular idol group BNK48, who are scheduled to perform the joint Japanese-Thai song "Because of You 2026 Thai-Japanese Version".

The venue also features displays of traditional Thai clothing, "Chuttai," an AI-powered try-on experience, and interactive booths themed around Thai tourism. The event is designed to allow visitors to experience both tradition and cutting-edge culture.

The entire town, centered around Yoyogi Park, will be transformed into a "Thai" wonderland. Why not experience the vibrant charm of Thailand? 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM (rain or shine). Free admission.
